Monica Reed, MD
Monica Reed, MD, a veteran healthcare leader with more than 30 years of experience and is President and Chief Executive Officer for UChicago Medicine AdventHealth. As CEO, Dr. Reed is responsible for overseeing the strategic development and growth of UChicago Medicine AdventHealth, which includes four hospitals in Bolingbrook, Glendale Heights, Hinsdale and La Grange, and more than 50 sites of care. Formerly Monica was the CEO of Advent Health Celebration and also served as Chief Medical Officer, SVP for the Care Continuum and Chief Learning Officer for the Central Florida region of the corporation. She has been named one of Modern Healthcare’s Top 25 Minority Executives in Healthcare, one of the Orlando Sentinel’s Top 5 Citizens of Central Florida, Central Florida Urban League’s Cornerstone Award for Healthcare Empowerment, and one of Legacy Central Florida’s Most Impactful Black Professionals. In addition to her innovative healthcare leadership, Monica has also been on the national stage as a medical news reporter for both NBC and ABC affiliates. She is the author of Creation Health Breakthrough, a book focused on 8 Principles of a healthy lifestyle. Dr. Reed received her M.D. from Loma Linda University, School of Medicine, and completed her Obstetrics and Gynecology Residency at the White Memorial Medical Center. She earned her MSc in Consulting and Coaching for Change focusing on strategic decision making in healthcare complexity from Saïd Business School at the University of Oxford – HEC Paris. She is a board member for Intuitive Surgical (ISRG).
