Dr. Joseph DeSimone is the Sanjiv Sam Gambhir Professor of Translational Medicine and Chemical Engineering at Stanford University, with appointments in Radiology, Chemical Engineering, and the Graduate School of Business. He is also Co-Director of the Canary Center for Cancer Early Detection and founding director of Stanford’s Center for STEMM Mentorship.

Dr. DeSimone is the Co-Founder and former CEO of Carbon, a pioneering 3D printing company, and previously served as a professor at the University of North Carolina and NC State University. A recognized innovator, he is widely known for translating breakthrough science into commercial success across materials science, drug delivery, and advanced manufacturing.
